Austrian builder Silent Yachts has sold a further two hulls in its Silent 80 series of solar electric catamarans.
The builder has now sold a total of six Silent 80s and gave a construction update on the first hull under construction. The in-build catamaran has been moved from the first production facility to another site where it will complete construction.
Production continues at two of Silent Yachts’ four production facilities. Two sites in Italy remain closed. Founder and chief executive Michael Köhler said that he expects “delays” to the production line but “nothing serious”.
“We are happy to be able to continue our production despite uncertain times for the world economy,” he added.
Designed inside and out by Marco Casali of Too Design, the Silent 80 features naval architecture by MICAD.
Key features include a clean exterior with straight lines of large windows that allow natural light to fill the saloon and guest areas. There are numerous outdoor social areas, including the aft cockpit, which has a lounge and bar.
The first unit under construction has a four cabin layout with two owner cabins. The aft master suite includes a study, walk around closet and sauna. However a number of different layouts are available.
“Inside the Silent 80 is designed to provide maximum comfort to owner and guests who spend months on board in long happy voyages”, said Köhler. “The décor styling is marine, so it is minimalist, ergonomic, muted, and at the same time luxurious and refined to perfection.”
