M51 reveals 80m volcano-inspired superyacht concept

HighLifeChannel August 9, 2022

Design studio M51 has released designs for an 80 metre ice class superyacht concept named Forge.

The main saloon of the Forge concept from M51

Developed with all-weather and climate conditions in mind, Forge’s design is intended to embody the silhouette of a volcano on the water. This is realised by the pyramid-shaped superstructure in obsidian black and sharp angular orange decks.

Helipad feature on the concept superyacht Forge

The distinctive design allows for vaulted ceilings in the sky lounge and a private panoramic glass ceiling on the upper deck in the master cabin, allowing for guests to stargaze in bed.

A helipad on the foredeck, generous port and starboard fold-out balconies, a walkaround bridge deck and a grand staircase aesthetically flowing down various levels to the swimming area and beyond, allows guests to fully appreciate whichever environment they find themselves in.

The interior features high quality natural materials with modern, elegant styling to counter the bold exterior. A fully equipped gym and sauna, as well as a gimbal-mounted sensory deprivation tank, caters for all lifestyle and wellbeing desires, while a large full beam tender/toy garage with port and starboard hull doors has ample space for storing all leisure accessories.

The concept features an interior volume of 1750 GT with a 12 metre beam and an ice class hull for safe and comfortable cruising in the polar regions.

A hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system gives the concept a range of over 5,000 nautical miles. M51 was created by Anthony Glasson, who spent over ten years working as an engineer in the superyacht industry.
