The royal family gathered at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the 2019 Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night, paying tribute to those who died in service. Joining the Queen to honour the fallen were the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke of York, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and Anne, the Princess Royal – as well as the Cambridges and Sussexes. 2019 marks 75 years since many notable World War II battles, including Monte Cassino, Kohima and Imphal, and D-Day.
For the annual ceremony, Kate wore a simple yet elegant navy dress with a bateau neckline and a velvet band at the waist. She finished off the look with black Jimmy Choo pumps, an Alexander McQueen clutch, and a Zara headband – now one of her signature accessories. Her most notable adornment besides the three poppies at her collar? A set of pearl and diamond earrings, loaned to the Duchess by the Queen for the occasion.
Meanwhile, Meghan opted for a black floral jacquard prom dress – her hair slicked back into a bun, revealing a pair of heart-shaped ruby earrings by designer Jessica McCormack. Her go-to Deneuve heels from Aquazurra and a poppy brooch completed the outfit.
The Queen and other members of the Royal Family will next attend a Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph for Remembrance Sunday.
